Abstract
We studied the effectiveness of 10% hydroquinone ointment including 0.3% prednisolone butylacetate for the treatment of atopic dirty neck. A total of 14 cases were investigated and 71% of patients showed effectiveness. A comparison between effective and non-effective cases showed the effective cases to have a shorter history of atopic dermatitis. The effectiveness of this ointment had no relationship with the severity of atopic dirty neck, the age of the patients, the amount of ointment used, or the duration of treatment. In addition, no side effects were observed throughout this study. Our results therefore showed the effectiveness of topical hydoroquinone for treatment of atopic dirty neck.
