Dr. Khalid Garman is a physician-scientist and a Visiting Fellow in the Dermatology Branch at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. After earning his medical degree from the University of Tripoli (Tripoli, Libya), Dr. Garman worked as a physician for a few years before moving to the United States. There, he pursued a master's and PhD in pharmacology from Georgetown University. Following his graduate studies, he joined Dr. Isaac Brownell's lab at the National Institutes of Health as a visiting fellow, where he focused on developing innovative therapies for Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive skin cancer.
