Abstract
The results of anterior spinal fusion operation according to Cloward's method were observed on 30 patients with cervical osteochondrosis.
Out of the 30 patients, 22 had syndromes of the spinal cord compression and the remaining 8 had only radicular syndrome. The results of the operation were satisfactory, being good in 71%, and effective in 20%. Better results were obtained in the latter group than in the former.
As to the relationship between the results and duration from onset to the operation, better results were obtained in the cases of the former group, whose onset was within 6 motnhes, although there was no relationship in the letter group.
