Abstract
Plastc shoe insert was described by the University of California Biomechanics Laboratory (UC-BL) in 1964.
New Yorke University (NYU) has derived a technique for the attachment of the shoe insert to standard below-knee up-right and ankle joint.
We applied to the twenty patients at the Kumamoto Rosai Hospital ower the year 1971 to 1972.
1) combine in a single appliance of foot alignment with functions of a connextional below-knee brace.
2) permit interchange of shoes without disassembling the brace.
3) improve cosmesis.
