Abstract

Fracture of the atlas is seldom recognized, because of anatomical characteristics.
3 patients of fracture of the Atlas (one case was isolated and two cases were associated fractures) recently were treated in our clinic.
In all cases clinical symptoms, being relatively mild, improved under conservative treatment.
Case 1. 47 years old, male, downfall, associated with fractures of 2nd spinous process and 7th vertebral body.
Case 2. 21 years old, male, traffic accident, associated with fracture of the odontoid process.
Case 3. 22 years old, male, traffic accident, isolated fracture of the atlas.
