A Recovery Case of Tourniquet Paralysis

Abstract

A 31-year-old woman with rheumatoid arthritis was recieved arthroplasty operation of the left elbow. Under cervical epidual anesthesia a rubber band tourniquet was applied around the left upper arm.
Tourniquet time was 100 minutes and tourniquet pressure was unknown.
After operation the patient was unable to move the left upper limb below the elbow, all the fingers felt almost anesthesia.
21 weeks after operation, complete recovery of the paralysis was taken place. And in this report, critical factor of the tourniquet paralysis was studied.
