Abstract

Sixteen cases of combined lesion of the median and ulnar nerve were treated from 1967 to 1977. The follow-up results were classified by Higher's and Zachary's criteria. The following results were obtained:
1) Of 4 cases after neurolysis, all recovered near-normal sensory and motor function both in median and ulnar nerve.
2) In 9 cases after nerve suture, 77.7% showed a recovery of over-M3, 55.5% over-+2 and an useful recovery was obtained in 55.5% in median nerve, 33.3% were in category of over-M+2, 66.0% in over-S+2 and an useful recovery was regained in only 33.3% in ulnar nerve.
