Abstract
From April, 1975 to September 1980, 90 cases had been operated on for lumbardisc hernia.
Follow up study was done in 30 out of 90 cases. Duration of follow-up was from 6 months to 5 years and 5 months. The results were as followed;
Of 30 cases, 17 were excellent, 9 good, and 1 poor. 3 cases were operated again.
The factor that had worsed results were patient's age and the duration from the onset to the operation.
Prolaps type had better result than protrusion type. Narrowing of the intervertebral space was observed in 11 of 30 cases.
