Abstract
Since 1973, when the outbreak of many quadriceps shortnings was found in Yamanashi Prefecture, a large number of muscle shortnings caused by intramuscular injection have been reported.
In Itsuwamachi, muscle disorders among school children have become an issue since 1978.
We investigated muscle disorders there on January 1979 and February 1980, and found so much muscle shortnings.
Among the 203 examined children, quadriceps shortning was found in 20 children, deltoideus shortning in 59, and triceps brachii shortning in 2.
Acoording to the detailed information particularly about the injection history, we draw a conclusion that the cause of muscle disorders was repeatedly performed intramuscular injection.
