We performed eight modified Bristow, two Putti-Platt and one Bankart procedures for recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder between 1975 and 1981.
Redislocation didn't occur in any cases.
In the cases of the modified Bristow procedure, break or spontaneous removal of the screw was not found. But the limitation of external rotation was larger than other reports.
Two patients complained of pain in the scapular region and the pain disappeared after removal of the screw.
