Experience of Operative Treatment of Tibial Pilon Fractures

Abstract

We reviewed 12 cases of tibial pilon fractures treated operatively. Seven cases had good or excellent results and one case had a fair result, but other four cases were not examined. On the lateral view of the X-ray film, it appeared that the fixation of antero-posterior direction prevented the dislocation of tibial fragments.
It is conceivable that the Dupuis' plate is a useful material for the surgical treatment of tibial pilon fractures.
