Abstract
We treated 46 cases with intertrochanteric fractures of the femur during 1985-1989, in which 33 cases were operated with Ender's nails and 11 cases with compression hip screws (C. H. S.). 3 cases with Ender's nails and 1 case with C. H. S. failed union.
The causes of these malunions mainly resulted from the technical errors and type of fractures. So we concluded that it was most important for the prevention of failures to keep the accurate and fundamental technical methods.
