Abstract

Popliteal cysts in rheumatoid arthritis are rarely reported in Japan, and in particular giant calf cysts are very rare.
We report two cases of giant calf cysts, in which the patients presented with calf pain and weakness in rheumatoid arthritis. Arthrography was the most useful diagnostic tool for identifying calf cysts.
Both cases received surgical treatment, and had a good post-operative recovery.
