Abstract
Nineteen cases with femoral subtrochanteric fractures were treated surgically using the Intramedullary Hip Screw or the Gamma Nail.
In one cases a femoral shaft fracture occurred, requiring interlocking intramedullary nailing. All cases except one achieved bone union.
This method is useful for treatment of femoral subtrochanteric fractures allowing early weight bearing.
