Abstract
We experienced a rare case of palmar dislocation of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint. The case was a 21 year-old female who sustained a twisting injury to the left index finger. In this case, the condyle of the proximal phalanx was trapped by the central slip.
The acute lesion should be treated by open reduction. If this is not recognized promptly and treated effectively, it may result in permanent disability.
