Abstract
The coronal oblique view of MRI targetting the anterior cruciate ligament was studied in 16 knees which were diagnosed arthroscopically. There were 6 knees with injured ACL and knees with normal ACL.
The coronal-oblique view revealed ACL as continuous from the femoral origin to tibial insert, it clearly depicted ACL especially in the femoral origin area.
We compared the sagittal oblique view with the coronal-oblique view based on arthroscopic findings.
The findings of ACL on the sagital-oblique view in 9 out of 16 knees corresponded to the arthroscopic diagnoses. In conparison, in 15out to 16knees direct findings of ACL on the coronal-oblique view corresponded to the arthroscopic diagnoses. Six out of 7 knees which showed uncertain continuity of ACL on sagittal-oblique view were described as normal ligaments on the coronal-oblique view and were diagnosed a normal ACL by arthscopy.
