Abstract
Total hip arthroplasty was performed with the use of Harris Garante cementless hip system in 58 hips and followed up for a minimum of 5 years (Mean 7 years). The mean age of the patients at the time of the operation was 57 years old. 37 hips had stable by bone ingrowth 13 hips had stable by fibrous ingrowth, and 13 hips were unstable. Rediolucent lines were indentified at 16 months in the bone in growth cases, but at 5 months in unstable cases. Appearance of radiolucent line represents stem initial stability.
