Abstract
We report a case of congenital dislocation of the knee. The patient was a girl with pelvic presentation in the uterus and born by cesarean section. She was pointed her back knees out right after birth. The roentgenographic findings were grade 3 dislocation of the Drehmann's classification. Most cases of congenital dislocation of the knee are treated conservatively. But in our case, conservative treatment (ex. brace, Pavlik harness) was not effective and therefore operative treatment was performed when she was 1 year and 1 month old. We desquamed the adhesive muscles, cut the capsules at the bilateral side, flexed the knees to about 90 degree and fixed them by Kirschnner wires. As a result, she could walk by herself when she was 1 year and 9 months old.
