This is a case of a 76-year-old man who had been hospitalized 7 years prior with suspicion of right spontaneous pneumothorax and organic pneumonia. The patient’s serum autoantibody levels were negative, and his serumKL-6 level was also negative (326 U/mL). His imaging findings were compatible with combined pulmonary fibrosis with emphysema (CPFE). He visited our hospital with a chief complaint of cough, was diagnosed with chroniceosinophilic pneumonia (CEP), and was treated with prednisolone (PSL). We reported the first case of CPFE complicated with CEP. A review of the literature is also presented.
