Background: Alzheimer’s disease is a multifactorial condition in which potentially reversible facto rs, including nutritional deficiencies, metabolic abnormalities, and environmental exposures, may be associated with cognitive decline. Comprehensive, individualized interventions have been proposed t o address these factors.
Case: A 59-year-old woman with mild cognitive impairment presented with a Mini-Mental State E xamination (MMSE) score of 27 and a Neurocognitive Index (NCI) score of 10. Laboratory evalu ation revealed apolipoprotein E ε3/ε4 genotype, homocysteine 13.7 μmol/L, 25-hydroxyvitamin D 1 1.1 ng/mL, and insulin resistance (HOMA-R 1.93). A comprehensive intervention based on the Re CODE protocol was implemented, including dietary modification, nutritional supplementation, aerob ic exercise, sleep hygiene, and environmental adjustments. After 6 months, MMSE decreased to 2 4, whereas NCI increased to 89. Homocysteine decreased to 8.3 μmol/L and 25-hydroxyvitamin D increased to 66.4 ng/mL.
Conclusion: In this single case, multidimensional intervention following individualized risk assessm ent was associated with changes in cognitive and biochemical indices. Further investigation is warr anted to clarify its clinical implications.
