Abstract
The objective of this lecture is to consider the possibility of a new scientific method from the viewpoint of “reality science.” Once, Descartes who presented the method of the modern science wrote A Discourse on Method. However, at present, new reality has become an important theme which could not adequately be grasped by the method he planned. The movement heightens which intends to grasp the reality such as edge of the chaos, fluctuation, noise, complexity, and postmodernity not caught by the method of the science that aims at the recognition of the universal law. In this lecture, I will discuss such new trends from the viewpoint of the “reality science,” and raise a question on the necessity of the method which takes in both of unique factor and universal factor.
