We examined the usefulness of the self-assessment of school life for children who have difficulty verbalizing their concerns. Eighty-six students were asked to answer their “concerns” about their school life by using open questions and self-assessment of school life. Compared to open questions, there were significantly more children who were able to verbalize their concerns by the self-assessment of school life, and it was considered that the verbalization of concerns was promoted by the quantification process of their own school life.
