Abstract
The difficulty of therapy in acute encephalopathy suggests the importance of a system of clinical staging. we have already suggested that the clinical course passes through three stages, each of which correlates with progression of nerological and EEG findings. For the purpose to define the progression of the clinical stages, the autoregressive powerspectral analysis (Sato, 1973, 1975) were performed on the serial EEG recordings of a 2-year-old boy with acute encephalopathy. The results were as follows:
