Abstract
We report the case of a 43-year-old woman who presented with the complaints of nasal obstruction and the sensation of a foreign body in the throat. A laryngoscopic examination revealed a giant nasopharyngeal tumor with postnarial obstruction. CT and MRI studies confirmed the nasopharyngeal cyst. We carried out intranasal endoscopy under general anesthesia and removed the cyst that contained dark brown fluid and was located around the left side of the nasopharynx. Histopathological studies showed that the cystic wall was covered with a layer of ciliated epithelium. Until now, 16 months after the operation, there has been no evidence of recurrence. The diagnosis and treatment of nasopharyngeal cyst are discussed.
