Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a benign localized disorder of the fibro-osseous tissue that sometimes involves the craniofacial bones. We report the case of a 43-year-old man with FD of the ethmoidal sinus involving the skull base. The patient presented to us complaining of headache localized to the right forehead. CT and MRI examinations revealed evidence of frontal sinusitis and a sclerotic lesion in the ethmoidal sinus. We performed segmental resection of the FD by endoscopic sinus surgery. His headache resolved completely after the surgery. Segmental resection could be considered as a valid therapeutic option for patients suffering from sinusitis secondary to FD.
