Abstract
A total of 30 patients, consisting of 15 adults and 15 infants with various otolaryngological infections were treated by Cepol dry syrup with good results.
Sensitivity tests performed on the cultured organisms from the foci of infections showed a sensitivity rate of about 70% to Cepol. This drug was also found to be effective for some cases where AB-penicillin was not effective.
One gram of Cepol dry syrup (Cephalexin or CEX) contains 100 milligrams of CEX.
A high boold concentration of this drug after oral ingestion and rapid excretion in the urine have been confirmed in previous studies. In order to maintain the necessary blood concentration a dosage of 50mg/kg. body weight per day is adequate, in divided doses, 4 times before meals and sleep.
