Abstract
The authors report a case of fibromatosis located at the radix of the tongue in an infant. The patient was found to have dyspnea immediately after birth due to the soft tissue tumors. Many polypoid tumors occupied the middle pharyngeal space. The tumor was excised surgically under general anesthesia 2. 5 hours after birth.
The pathological diagnosis of the tumor was fibromatosis. The tumor has not recurred up to now after 1. 5 years.
The authors reviewed the literature and discussed the nomenclature and prognosis of the infant.
