Abstract
Dacryocystorhinostomy by West's method was performed on a patient with epiphora after facial injury, but failed to obtain satisfactory result.
It was found that lacrimal flow cannot be altered by simple bypass between the lacrimal sac and the nasal cavity.
Therefore it is necessory to reestablish more physiological lacrimal flow in relation to the surrounding structures, in addition to the removal of obstruction of the lacrimal passage.
