Abstract
The response of the single cochlear nucleus neuron after stimulating of several parts in the cochlea was investigated using anesthetized cat. The stimulating electrodes were placed in the basal, middle and apical turns of the cochlea. The recording electrode was inserted stereotaxically. When stimulating basal turn, middle turn, apical turn of the cochlea, the ventral, central and dorsal part of the cochlear nucleus were activated, respectively. These results suggest the existence of the topographical map in the cochlear nucleus after stimulating various parts of the cochlea, just like the tonotopic organization by stimulating with pure tone.
