Microscopic foundation of spin electronics

Abstract

The basic concepts of an electron spin and a model of magnetism are outlined briefly, and then the physical features of spin electronics have been discussed from a theoretical viewpoint. In particular, spin-dependent transport phenomena in magnetic systems are studied in terms of spin current and spin torque.
