Critical fluctuations in econophysics

Abstract

Fluctuations having fractal properties can be found in various areas of economic phenomena by observing high-precision data. In material science, it is well-known that fractal fluctuations appear at the critical point of a phase transition. Here, we introduce a general formulation that enables us to view the economic phenomena as being at the critical point.
