Abstract

In the age of unpredictable industrial markets, research and development (R&D) strategy must be consistent with corporate strategy. Simultaneously, R&D strategy should also be flexible to accommodate rapid market change and be directed by strong leadership. In this article, an example of industry-university cooperation and human resources development within the R&D strategy of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation is introduced.
