Carriers from impurities in semiconductors and carriers in inversion-layer of MOS structures

Abstract

In metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) field-effect transistors (FETs), the number of charged carriers is controlled externally to realize the switching operation. In this paper, the operation of MOS capacitor is reviewed focusing on the gate voltage dependence of the numbers of majority and minority carriers.
