Abstract

This paper clarifies the viewpoints of resource risk and the direction to manage it. The resource risk is one of the three important risks in material use, and it is discussed from three viewpoints of sustainability and four constrictions on supply. Four strategies to manage the resource risk are proposed. “Science & Technology of Elements Project” and urban mining are groundbreaking trials being carried out in Japan preceding the world.
