Abstract

Energy efficient windows are one of the promising strategies for reducing CO2 emissions in the residential and commercial sectors. Using a switchable mirror thin film, which can be switched between transparent and mirror states, new switchable glass with an excellent shading property can be realized. In this paper, the basic properties of switchable mirrors are introduced, and measurements of their energy efficiency are reported.
