Magnetism and spintronics

Abstract

Spintronics is a field of science that develops ways of realizing novel applications using the spin degree of freedom. This will provide an alternative to conventional technologies, for which issues such as increasing energy consumption are becoming critical dilemmas for next-generation devices. We have selected six key technological areas that are expected to be important research topics in spintronics, and we consider the future trends and prospects in each theme.
