Crystal structure and X-ray diffraction

Abstract

The fundamentals for analyzing a crystal structure by an X-ray diffraction method are introduced. They are the relation between the crystal lattice and the diffraction condition, the symmetry of crystals, the physical meaning of reciprocal space, and intensity equations for several crystal states.
