Solar cells based on organometal halide perovskites are capturing worldwide interest as one example of innovative next-generation, low-production-cost solar cells. Improved preparation methods for the perovskite layer now exist, such as the one-step method, two-step method, and anti-solvent method, and the power conversion efficiency has been improved rapidly in recent few years to over 22%. Perovskite solar cells are classified into three types, namely, a nano-structured type, a planar hetero-junction type, and an inverted structure type. Although there are some problems, such as “hysteresis” for the planar type, the authors have rationalized the hysteretic behavior of the perovskite solar cells based on an electric circuit model. Several reports on perovskite solar cells and modules are summarized.
