Organic transistors for application to logic circuits

Abstract

The performance of organic transistors, which are expected to be next-generation devices for flexible electronics, has been progressing. The field-effect mobility for p-channel organic transistors has reached 10cm2 V-1 s-1. We have been trying to realize short channel, high mobility organic transistors, and control the threshold voltage for actual applications. The characteristics of organic transistors obtained in our study are introduced in this paper. The performance of CMOS logic circuits consisting of actual organic transistors was compared to the results of circuit simulations. The comparison supports the validity of the circuit simulation. The prospect of organic-transistor development is mentioned on the basis of the circuit simulation.
