Abstract

Efficient spin current generation and magnetic manipulation using spin currents are expected to be indispensable for realizing extremely low power spintronics devices. Here in this article we put a focus on spin Hall effects as a means of interconversion between charge and spin currents, and show some experimental methods to generate the spin currents and to determine quantitatively their conversion efficiency called the spin Hall angle.
