Abstract

Now humanity grasps quantum computers, once considered impossible to realize. With some prototypes in hand, the next challenge is to scale up the number of available qubits. Among the various hardware candidates for quantum computing, silicon-based quantum computers, supported by advanced microfabrication technologies, are highly promising in terms of large-scale integration. This article primarily focuses on the fundamental aspects of silicon spin qubits, the basic building blocks of silicon quantum computers, and also touches on the potential applications of quantum computing.
