Abstract

Since their introduction as a tool for signal representation, waveletes have become increasingly popular within the image coding community, because of the potential gains they offer for the construction of efficient image coding algorithms. Those potential gains are due to the fact that wavelets provide a good tradeoff between resolution in space and frequency domains.New image compression standard JPEG2000privided state-of-the-art compression performance together with an unprecedented set of bit-stream features, including resolutionscalability,SNR scalability and a random access capability. The core alogorithm based on independent Embedded Block Coding withOptimized Truncation of the embedded bit-streams(EBCOT). To avoiding the use of explicit and rate expensive shape descriptors, importantfeature is that the shape information of morphological sets used in the coder is encoded implicitly by the value of wavelet coefficients. To be able to make effctive use of any structure for improving coding performance,We used this method that make joint effort with JPEG2000 coding algorithm. An exprement to study of the statistical properties of wavelet cofficients of image date that gain shape information to decreasing the quantity of the code-blocks.The used method, while achieving the well objective performance of state-of-the-art zerotree based methods, are abletoproduce reconstructions of a somewhat superior perceptual quality due to a property of joint compression.
