Web-based expansion scheme for a design knowledge information database

Abstract

In recent years, comprehensive problem solving by a designer has been required as the demand to an artifact develops and complicates more. In the above background, we have proposed Universal Abduction Studio (UAS), a computer environment that supports a creative design synthetically. This paper proposes the method of expanding the design knowledge database used in UAS by extracting useful information for design from the resource on the web.
