In actual places where production activities are executed, huge variety of information is generated, transformed and exchanged dynamically. These activities are the source of valuable knowledge creation that affects the benefit of manufacturing enterprises. Only a part of the information is implemented in IT systems at this time. On the other hand, human oriented information, which contains so-called tacit knowledge, is also very important for the shop floor management in order to get competitive and sustainable advantages. This paper introduces a platform for manufacturing information exchange, and proposes how to operate context- depended information while keeping its flexibility and extendability.
