Efforts in safety evaluation for practical use of automated vehicles

Abstract

International regulations related to automated driving on public road was established in June 2020, and automated driving vehicles are now commercially available in Japan. In this presentation, I will introduce the domestic efforts to commercialize automated driving through public-private partnerships, overview overseas trends in safety evaluation of automated driving systems, and introduce the efforts to develop safety evaluation methods.
