Abstract

To compare research trends in the AI-related fields, we extracted information on research papers and co-authors from the Web of Science. We analyzed 12804 authors from the top 20 countries based on the number of AI-related papers published during 2018. We focused on the number of papers in each author's WOS Essential Science Indicators across 23 research fields. Our research utilized non-negative matrix factorization, mainly for the ease of interpretation of the results, from which we were able to extract the strengths and trends of each region's research in this area.
