Abstract
This paper focuses on STEAM education, which is being promoted and spread in Japan and aims to coach students how to discover and solve the problems in the real world. This paper focuses on the learning process of STEAM education as a cross-disciplinary approach through problem solving. In addition, it is discussed on the characteristics of STEAM education as practiced in elementary, middle and high schools, and its relationship to the ongoing school education reform.
