Building a brief book-report sharing website adopting a screening system intended for students for Oyama Kosen

Abstract

The National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Oyama College (henceforth, Oyama Kosen), Library has recently built a brief book-report sharing website intended for students at Oyama Kosen. The goals of the site are to stimulate the students to read a wider variety of books and to promote them to come to the library and to read more frequently. To attain this, the website is designed to be easily accessible to all students while ensuring its safety and security. This motivated us to create a site whose service the students can have access to without any account information. However, those who wish to post their book-reports are required to enter their e-mail addresses and “comment ID” numbers for us to avoid accepting anonymous contributions. Also, this website will only be accessible from the school’s LAN. Furthermore, a screening system is adopted to help maintain the secure and orderly use of the service.
