Abstract
We propose a plaque boundary extraction method employing fuzzy inference in intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) image used for a diagnosis of the acute coronary syndromes. In the proposed method, the positions and the number of membership functions are automatically decided according to information of seed points marked by a medical doctor. The proposed method has advantages over our previous method in the boundary extraction accuracy and the burden reduction on medical doctors.
