Abstract
In order for children with disabilities to live a normal life in the community, it is necessary for them to have early diagnosis, early treatment, as well as a support system that considers all life stages. In a small island community, where medical specialists and other social services are scarce, local community networks play an essential role. It is important that these networks include both administrative and private party collaboration, and that they have a way to ensure continuation. Living in this kind of an island situation, we are continually considering how to do this well.
